Erin's Story

I felt compelled to open my heart and let you know how much Ridgeline has affected my family.  By simply answering the door and accepting an invitation to our neighborhood block party, delivered to us by a Ridgeliner, we found what was missing in our lives.  Community, friendships and a need to draw closer to the Lord. The changes we have already seen in our lives, and more importantly in our marriage, are all because of the simple fact that God cares for us. I have no doubt that He is working wonders in our lives that we don’t yet see.  As I sit here sharing my journey, I think back to where we were just last year and I would have never thought this would be where we would land today. Our lives have done a 180 in the last year as we have established ourselves in the Ridgeline community.  I am grateful to my husband, who is still processing faith, for his willingness to learn and search for the truth. He has an open heart and mind that will take him farther down this journey.  I am so thrilled for him as he makes these initial steps in his journey.  I have no doubt that he will find truth in his time.  Changes have already been happening in our family.  Visual, tangible changes that I know are happening because God is holding us in His hands and guiding my family into Him. 

 

As my family walked into church that first sunday, tears had already began to fill my eyes.  I knew we were in the right place.  I knew we were at ground zero of an amazing journey together as a family and as a church.  As I listened to the message that Sunday, tears again filled my eyes and I was overcome with an emotion that I always knew was in me, I just hadn’t felt it in such a long time.  Watching Sam and Ryan getting so much joy out of RidgeKids makes me overjoyed.  Listening to Sam singing the songs she learned on the way home from church fills my heart with a joy I did not know I was missing.  That little voice singing"Who's that walking on the water?  JESUS...He cares for me!"  Just about made me weep. 

  

I must say a sincere thank you to all of you for what you have brought to our valley.  Family by family, Ridgeline is making a difference !  How great is our God !!!
